Transfer

What is a Transfer?

Transfers are precision graphics designed for seamless, edge-free application. They are intended to deliver a zero-edge result using transfer film, where the design is applied directly onto a surface or object, leaving no visible border or carrier material behind.

At StickerApp, transfers are available for fabric, hard surfaces, and skin – covering a range of products from heat-applied garment graphics to UV DTF prints for hard goods and temporary tattoos for skin application.

How StickerApp transfers are produced

Each transfer product is produced differently depending on the target surface and application method.

Heat transfers are printed onto a carrier film using DTF (Direct to Film) technology. A hot melt powder adhesive is applied and cured, allowing the design to bond to fabric when heat and pressure are applied via a heat press. The carrier film is removed after application, leaving only the design on the fabric.

UV DTF Transfer stickers are printed onto a special film using UV-cured ink. The transfer is applied to hard, non-porous surfaces by hand pressure alone – no heat is required. After application, the carrier film is removed, leaving a seamless, edge-free print directly on the surface.

Temporary tattoos are printed in reverse onto a release paper using water-activated adhesive. The tattoo is placed face-down on skin, wetted, and the backing is peeled away, transferring the design onto the skin. Temporary tattoos are cosmetic products and use skin-safe inks and adhesives.

Vinyl transfers are produced by cutting shapes and lettering from solid-color vinyl film. The non-design parts are weeded out and a transfer film is applied on top to hold all elements in alignment. The transfer is applied to the target surface by hand, the transfer film is removed, and only the vinyl design remains.
