The Illustration Festival IF by KIBLIND

Turning illustrations into an immersive experience through large-format stickers.

Where illustrations go BIG

What happens when you turn illustrations into something you can actually walk through?

Well, you get IF, also known as the Illustration Festival by KIBLIND: a two-day celebration where contemporary illustration steps off the page and into a fully immersive world, powered in large part by bold, large-format stickers.

KIBLIND is a magazine dedicated to visual arts, contemporary culture, and creative industries, with a focus on contemporary French and international illustration. The concept KIBLIND, however, is actually much more than just the magazine.

It's a team of 30 illustration lovers on a mission to help contemporary artists thrive in France and internationally. Through KIBLIND Magazine, KIBLIND Agency, KIBLIND Studio, and IF Festival, they create platforms where illustration not only exists - but shines.

At IF is where it truly comes alive.

Digital design goes physical space

StickerApp: How do you turn a festival space into a fully immersive illustration universe, using nothing but bold creativity and large-format stickers?

KIBLIND: We had already collaborated with StickerApp and were confident in both the quality and the creative potential of their stickers. Very quickly, large-format wall and floor stickers established themselves as true scenographic and narrative tools, capable of anchoring visitors within the world of each exhibition.

The vision immediately aligned: IF and StickerApp share the same creative energy and the same desire to promote contemporary illustration and support artists through original, playful, and accessible formats, all in service of an immersive experience.

Mascot Town, Club-Ciné, and a village built in vinyl

StickerApp: Bringing an illustrated world to life across walls, floors, objects, and collectibles, all within a heritage space welcoming thousands of visitors, sounds ambitious, but you pulled it off. How did you go about it?

KIBLIND: From the very first concepts, we were closely supported by the StickerApp team in defining the most suitable applications — walls, floors, windows, or objects — based on plans and moodboards. At Les Subsistances, a heritage site, the challenge was to use non-invasive adhesives adapted to sometimes complex surfaces, while ensuring fast and easy installation, as well as strong durability in the face of 11,000 visitors.

In Mascot Town, large-format floor and wall stickers brought an illustrated village to life by adding depth and 3D effects, while enabling the creation of sets and signage. The scale of the formats also represented a real creative challenge, with several dozen square meters of stickers, but the final result more than lived up to expectations.

In Club-Ciné, they transformed iconic elements — a popcorn machine and vintage televisions — entirely wrapped in the exhibition’s visual identity, extending the festival’s branding right down to the objects themselves.

We also imagined a sticker sheet as a collectible keepsake, while exhibitors from the Illustrated Objects Market were able to print their own stickers, extending both the experience and the collaboration beyond the festival.

StickerApp: What happens when creative ambition meets technical mastery at full scale?

KIBLIND: This collaboration with StickerApp allowed us to explore the full potential of very large-format stickers, resulting in immersive, high-quality, and technically well-mastered scenographies, opening up new perspectives for our future projects.

As a creative studio, KIBLIND is increasingly developing scenographies, visual environments, and bridges between content, events, and physical objects — and StickerApp naturally stands out as a key partner. A huge thank you to their teams for their support and their ability to bring our most ambitious ideas to life.
